Educating Rita by Willy Russell    (Donation Tickets On Sale Here)
Rehearsed Play Reading Evening
IMPORTANT
We have had to change the venue for "Educating Rita" because there are roadworks in the surrounding streets and main entrance to El Trapiche. This only leaves one entrance with 19 steps outside and no on-street parking.  It is simply inaccessible for too many people. The new venue for 13.3.24 is La Alcoholera, also known as El Ingenio in San Pedro. This is a beautifully restored historical building, now used as a cultural centre.  It is at the end of the boulevard, on the opposite side of the main road to MacDonalds and the La Colonia Commercial Centre. The address is Calle Morena, 4, San Pedro 29670.

This is a witty yet poignant look at a working class woman's attempt to change her social circumstances through an Open University qualification. Rita is a hairdresser married to Lenny and living around the corner from her family.
The play is a two-hander with Rita and a lecturer, Frank.
It was written in 1980 by Willy Russell and made into a film in 1983. The play will have you laughing and crying in quick succession. Rita will be played by Sheila Mellor and Frank will be played by Bernie Murray.

Sheila Mellor will direct it at El Trapiche Cultural Centre in San Pedro.
It is a rehearsed play reading. We are meeting at 7.15 pm for an 8pm curtain.

Entry is by donation and we suggest 10€ for paid-up ITS members and 12€ for non-members. Please donate online on our tickets page and receive your reservation receipt.
