We are back at last.  We hope you had a great summer. Our planning is taking us more time than normal as we are having some problems finding venues that are still open and can accommodate us.

We are now taking a break for the hottest months of the year, and we are planning to return in mid/late September with another series of rehearsed play readings. We still have our main production, “Towards Zero” ready to go if large gatherings are allowed and if the hotel will allow us to use their venue.

Rehearsed play reading luncheons
Thank you for your support for our rehearsed play reading luncheons; we are so sorry that we cannot accommodate everyone who wants to attend even with the extra performances. Currently we can only have 30 seats at each event with tables of four people maximum.

It is our intention to perform these reading luncheons and dinners every three weeks or so and the Diana Carvery is happy to have us for these events. We will let you know what is coming up next.

Thank you to everyone who attended the two play-reading luncheons in January and March. Sadly we were only able to entertain 53 members, as the numbers were restricted due to Covid-19 regulations.

Now that we have a new format and a venue that is working well for us all, we are delighted to tell you that we will be holding another matinee rehearsed play-reading luncheon on Saturday 10th April 2021. Bookings are online only, we cannot accept payment at the door.

Belated Happy New Year to you!

Play Reading Matinee Luncheon
It started so well, with 25 of us enjoying two short plays and a lovely three-course meal at the Diana Carvery on Saturday 16th January.

We would like to wish everyone a happy, healthy, peaceful and enjoyable Christmas and New Year. Things can only get better next year and they will.

A play reading for you
With our positive thinking heads on we are planning a play reading matinee luncheon for Saturday 16th January 2021 at 2pm. We have two plays, two directors: Peter Brooks and Martin Curd, and the casts all lined up for your delight and enjoyment.

We hope this newsletter finds you safe, well and happy. Sadly we do not have lots of news to tell you other than we are still alive and kicking, and desperate to perform for you.

Our next production
Our talented actors involved in the rehearsals for “Towards Zero” since January, are more than ready to perform when the restrictions are fully released. We are committed to making this our first major event. The director, Peter Brooks, is excited to bring you an evening of drama with this classic Agatha Christie thriller.

We hope this newsletter finds you well, happy and safe during these unprecedented times. We offer our sincere condolences to those of you who may have lost family members and close friends.

The purpose of our newsletters is to keep you up-to-date on what we are doing or, more appropriately at the moment, what we are not doing but also to share with you the new things that we are planning to do!

Tickets are now on sale for our spring production “Towards Zero” by Agatha Christie and directed by Peter Brooks. It is a nail-biting thriller with a superb cast and we can guarantee an enjoyable evening of theatre. It will be performed at the Hotel Paraiso on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March 2020  AMENDMENT: We will confirm revised dates as soon as possible..

Our next event is a play reading evening on Wednesday 12th February 2020 at El Candil Bar in San Pedro. We are meeting at 7.30 pm for an 8 pm curtain. No need to book, simply turn up. There is no fee for this event. Russell Hood is organising the evening. You can read a part or simply sit, listen and enjoy!
