There will be an Audition held on Tuesday 17th September at El Candil San Pedro 7.30 for 8 p.m. for The Opposite Sex. Dates of production; 15th, 16th and 17th November at Atalaya Park Hotel.

Casting: 2 men, 2 women

Mark, modern business man, smartly dressed and has a sharp wit, which he needs to counteract his wife Vicky.

Vicky, wears designer clothes, is sophisticated and conscious of her image. She is a marriage councillor . Has an acerbic tongue when dealing with her husband.

Judith, is basically the nice girl next door with no pretensions . Has a small son (we can make him older, to suite the age of the actress). Is an Avon rep. She is dominated by her husband Eric.

Eric, Judith’s husband, is highly principled very argumentative, opinionated and somewhat boorish, although highly educated. Is a lecturer at a technical college.

Ages: Judith should be young enough to have a child but could make the child into a young teenager. The other 3 characters ages are not quite so important although should be credible.

Synopsis. Vicky and Mark have invited Judith and Eric to dinner. Eric has met neither Vicky or Mark before and Judith has only met them once, briefly. They only have one thing in common. When they find out what it is, all hell’s going to break loose!

A very funny play.

I have selected some pieces from the play for each character. Should any of you would like to read them before the audition please contact Wendy Castle (our secretary) who will email them to you.
