News from ITS
Following the last newsletter in February, I would like to update you on what’s happening next for ITS. Get your diaries ready for a few nights out with a difference.

The Lark in the Park
This year, our annual fundraising event for charity will be held on Sunday 7th June 2015, at starting at 7 pm promptly in the Parque de Torre Leonora in Benahavis.

We will be performing a one-act play called “The Last Bread Pudding” written by Nick Warburton. Kate Jackson will direct it and the cast will be Andrew Gommersall, Eileen Audas, Veronica Del Cero, Rachel Armstrong, Paul Baker, Diana King and Keith Audas.

The chosen charity this year is “Debra: for the children with Butterfly Skin”.

After the play, there is an interval of about one hour for you to enjoy your own picnic in the park. Then the second half of the evening will be live music from Quincy Sax, The Singing Sanctuary Pop and Gospel Choir; and solo singers Stella and Maribel Lopez. Tickets will be available soon.

Murder Mystery Evening
“Come die with me” written by Diana King and directed by Kate Jackson was performed on the 1st May at El Paraiso Golf club and was very well received. It is showing again on the 15th May but is sold out. But don’t worry; there will be two more performances in September. We will circulate the dates as soon as they are confirmed.

The spring production: “Side Effects”
Almost 300 people came to see the latest production at the Atalaya Park Hotel, a lower number than usual, due to its later timing.

We normally hold the spring production in March but this year the hotel was closed for repair work and we were delayed until April. However, those who saw it enjoyed it immensely. We were asked to take it to Fuengirola by the Salon Varietés, but unfortunately some of the cast were unable to do the dates, and so sadly we had to decline the offer.

Following on from The Annual General Meeting
i) Membership
The AGM was held in March 2015 and was attended by 22 people. We really do want to recruit more members to ITS and we ask for your help in publicizing our activities.

Membership is so cheap! It is only 10€ for a single person or 15€ for a couple. Please contact Eileen Audas our membership secretary via the ITS website

ii) International Theatre Studio Store
The largest expenditure for us is the annual cost of storing scenery and props. Following on from the AGM, we ask members to let us know if they are aware of good storage available locally at a fantastic price; we would like to hear from you.

Rehearsed Play Readings
We intend to produce some rehearsed play readings into the future so watch this space for something a little bit different.

A friendly Spanish welcome and a good night out
We are very fortunate to hold our meetings and many of the rehearsals in the upstairs room at El Candil Bar in San Pedro. Alfonso runs this tiny bar and he serves drinks and tapas each evening from Tues to Sun. It is in the corner of a little street (Calle Andalucia) between Bar Alfredo and Pub Charles on Avenida de la Constitucion. Alfonso doesn’t charge ITS any room hire, so if you would like to support him with a visit, then a warm welcome awaits you.

Fred Wallis, Honorary Vice President
Sadly, Fred Wallis died on 11th April 2015. He was involved with ITS for over 30 years and produced many of the shows. He will be much missed. Thank you to everyone who passed on messages, these were all saved and sent on to his sister. May he rest in peace.

Best wishes for a fabulous summer and I hope to see you very soon at one of our events,

Kindest regards,
Carol Woolnoth
