Happy New Year, I hope you have a fantastic 2016.

We have some exciting things happening as usual and there are some important dates for your diary within this newsletter.

Our New Year Celebration:
We have booked Kokomo restaurant for Saturday 23rd January at 8pm. They have now moved to a new venue that is in the Royal Nordic Centre up the hill from the Diana Commercial Centre in Avenida Pernet.

It is quite easy to find: coming from San Pedro, take the Diana Centre exit, and turn right just before the Diana Centre, and drive up the hill and it is on the right. Their food is fabulous quality and great value with lovely service.

The menu is for €14.95 for two courses. There will be three choices of starters and mains (desserts also available of course!)

If you wish to come please let Ruth, our secretary, know as soon as possible. Please email her at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your names and she will send you the menu choices.

2016 Membership:
The annual fees are now due please. It is €10 for one person and €15 for a couple. Your new membership cards are waiting for you. You can pay at one of the events that we have coming up. Eileen Audas, our treasurer, is also responsible for memberships and she would appreciate your payments as soon as possible. Thank you.

The Spring Production:
We will be producing “Ghost Writer” by David Tristram, a wonderful thriller with some lovely comedic elements. Diana King, one of our vice presidents, will direct it.

The dates will be Friday 18th, Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th March 2016. We hope to be able to use The Atalaya Park Hotel as usual. Tickets will available nearer the time and we will let you know where and when.

The auditions were held on Tuesday 13th January and the cast is as follows:
Edward– Jamie Stonehewer
Alex – Martin Curd
Ruby – Ruth Baldwin
Glenda – Danni Ravden
Frances – Kate Jackson
Hedley – Russell Hood

Sandra Sprawson will produce it with Karl Maresz as stage manager. Eileen Audas will be the prompt. Andrew Gommersall will do special effects and technical support.

Rehearsals will start week beginning the 18th January.

Play Reading: new date!
Our next play reading will be led by Kate Jackson, vice president on Wednesday 27th January at El Candil Bar in San Pedro in the upstairs room. Kate has chosen a comedy to start off the new year. Participants and observers are all welcome. It is an enjoyable and social way to enjoy drama in a relaxed environment.

We will meet at 7.30 pm for an 8 pm start. Tapas will be available if you want to purchase it with your drinks.

(We are sorry that we had to change the date.)

The Annual General Meeting 2016:
The AGM will be held on Thursday 3rd March at El Candil Bar in San Pedro at 7.30 pm for an 8 pm prompt start please. Papers will be circulated in advance.

Tapas will be available after the meeting, these are provided free of charge by ITS, so we would like you to let us know in advance if you are able to attend, to help plan the catering.

As I mentioned in the last newsletter, I intend to stand down as President at the AGM. In addition, Eileen Audas intends to remain as treasurer but to hand over the membership secretary role to a willing volunteer.

Volunteers: Set builders and technical help
We still need to find some willing helpers for building the set, erecting and dismantling it and for working on technical issues for all our productions. If you know anyone who might be remotely interested, we will willingly train him or her and help them learn about what is required.

ITS storeroom:
At last, I have found a new storeroom in Guadalmina that meets all our needs and is a better price than we are currently paying and very convenient. We hope to sort out the existing store, rationalise some things and move into the new one over the next month or so. Storage is the biggest cost to ITS across the year, so the move is financially important to us.
