News from ITS
I am both proud and delighted to take up the role of President of ITS, thank you for your kind comments and congratulations. I have a strong group of Board members to work with and a sound foundation on which to build further.

The Annual General Meeting

Thank you to everyone who attended the Annual General meeting last week. After four years as President and Vice President, Carol Woolnoth resigned her post so that she can concentrate on travelling, spending time with Geoff, and visiting their new grandchild in the UK. She was presented with a gift and card from everyone in ITS as a token of our appreciation for her hard work and commitment. She is remaining on the Board.

We had two other resignations: Barbara Mitchell (a past President) and Peter Rogers. They too have both made an incredible contribution to ITS and will be much missed. We wish them all the best.

New Statutes for ITS

The statutes for ITS have been updated to comply with Spanish law and I am very grateful to Eileen Audas for her work on this. They were accepted and approved at the EGM on the 3rd March 2016. They will be on our website shortly.

Our spring production

At the moment we are very busy with the rehearsals for “Ghost Writer” by David Tristram. It’s a haunting comedy and it is very funny!

I am directing it, with Sandra Sprawson producing.

The cast is Jamie Stonehewer, Ruth Baldwin, Kate Jackson, Russell Hood with two newcomers, Martin Curd and Danni Ravden.

We open on Friday 18th March at the Atalaya Park Hotel for three nights. Friday and Saturday nights are at 8pm, Sunday is 7pm.

Tickets are available now from Cath’s Cards in Benavista, from Viva in San Pedro and by telephone on 629 261 309 or 952 880 240 at evenings and weekends.

A night out in Fuengirola

We have been invited to transfer “Ghost Writer” to The Salon Varietes in Fuengirola on 20th, 21st and 22nd May. So if you can’t make the March dates or you want to see us perform again, you have this wonderful opportunity!

The Lark in the Park

Our annual charity fundraiser will be on Sunday 29th May 2016 in the park in Benahavis. Our charity this year is “Caritas”.

Andrew Gommersall is making his ITS directorial debut with a one-act comedy play, “Background Artiste” by Stephen Smith. He has chosen a great cast with Paul Baker, Beverley Stonehewer, Miles Rendle, Maggie Taylor and Ana Ower.

The synopsis is:

“Mary decides to spice up her life and join Alfredo Leache’s Background Artistes Agency. But spending just a short time in the office Mary learns that being a walk-on artiste isn’t all glamour...!”

Kate Jackson is organising the second half of the evening with musical acts so we should have a fabulous evening as usual. More details will follow nearer the time.
Rehearsed Play Readings
We have two rehearsed play readings coming shortly. We know that these are popular and we have two new volunteers willing to do them. Details coming very soon!

Correction: Theatre Numbers
In the last newsletter, we inadvertently got the audience figures wrong for “Dirty Dusting”. It was 408 not 485 as printed.
