Things are hotting up for the summer and we have some lovely events for you to attend before we take respite from the heat during August.

Our next event
On Thursday 29th June at The Atalaya Park Hotel, Peter Brooks will direct Noel Coward’s “Still Life”, the play that the film “Brief Encounter” is based upon. This is a staged play reading (also known as a rehearsed reading or books- in- hand).

We have a wonderful cast and the amazing hotel venue with the internal bar open from 7pm. What’s not to like?

Tickets are 5€ for members and 6€ for non-members. You may book online now to secure your places or pay at the door on the night. The curtain is up at 8 pm prompt.

Our annual charity fundraiser
Thank you to everyone who attended our annual charity event “Lark in the Park” in Benahavis. We raised 4100 € for Age Concern: Marbella and San Pedro. Huge thanks go to the fantastic acts that entertained us, without a fee, to support the charity: Stella, Sam Oliver and Karen Danzig. Please will you support them at their paid events along the coast if you can. Our thanks too go to the Townhall at Benahavis for their generous support in letting us use the beautiful park Torre Leonera.

Our Autumn Production 20th to 22nd October 2017
Diana King will be directing “Haywire” a comedy by Eric Chappell. Eileen Audas will be the producer.

Alec Firth is having an affair with his assistant, Liz, and has organized his domestic life so that they can go to Spain on holiday without making Alec's wife Maggie remotely suspicious. What could possibly go wrong? Plenty. On the doorstep, in dizzyingly rapid succession, are: Phoebe, Alec's mother, who has discharged herself from her old people's home; Alec's son Jamie, with a broken ankle; and his daughter, heavily pregnant and not planning to marry the child's father ...

Auditions for “Haywire”
On Wednesday 12th July we will be holding auditions for “Haywire”. These will be held at Bar El Candil in San Pedro at 7.30 pm for 8 pm start. All are welcome to audition. Please just come along. We are looking for two males and four females as follows:
(the ages are approximate and we will work with who we get!)
Alec Firth, book seller, early fifties.
Liz, Alec's assistant, early thirties.
Maggie Firth, Alec's wife, early fifties.
Phoebe Firth, Alec's mother, late seventies.
Jamie Firth, Alec's and Maggie's son, mid-twenties.
Mandy Firth, Alec's and Maggie's daughter, early twenties.

Sides/scripts will be made available on the night. The director, Diana King, will lead the evening.

Rehearsals will start in late August and the performances will be held on 20th, 21st and 22nd October 2017.
