Our next event is a rehearsed play reading directed by Peter Brooks on Wednesday 18th September 2019 at the “CK Senior La Quinta”, Urbanisation Soto La Quinta, Calle Asia, 29679 (This was formally called La Aldea). It looks like a small hotel and has long garden with statues/sculptures which you see as you approach it. It is just off the Ronda Road in San Pedro, past the BP garage on your left, a short way past the Aranda Lighting Shop (this is on your right) and past the motorway entry on your right, then turn right under the motorway bridge. Follow the road round and the “CK La Quinta” is the first building on your left. Arrival is 7.30 pm for an 8 pm curtain.

Tickets are available now for booking. We recommend booking online, as we are limited to 70 seats. There is no entry fee for the tickets but we are asking for a minimum voluntary contribution of 5 € please. Drinks will be available on the night.

Peter has two plays for your delight: "Hands Across the Sea" by Noel Coward and "Words of Advice" by Fay Weldon. He has a wonderful cast, and after a few cast changes due to unforeseen circumstances, we now have Diana King, Carol Woolnoth, Geoffrey Stansfield, Carmel Rogers, Laurie Passman, John Cienki, Pat Kelly, Leah Mack, Michelle Lauren Mack, Eileen Audas, Kirsty Dennis, PJ Lopez, Lois Burrell, Finn Garratt and Martin Curd.

A rehearsed play reading is where the cast will be in costume and will have the scripts to hand.

The autumn production
Diana King is directing for “Don’t Dress for Dinner” by Marc Camoletti, adapted by Robin Hawdon, for the main production on the 25th, 26th and 27th October 2019. It is a fast and funny French farce. It will be held at the Hotel TRH Paraiso off the coast road Carretera de Cadiz, Km 167 in Estepona. It is next door to the Paraiso Golf Club.

Following auditions in August, Diana cast the following:
Bernard: Miles Rendle
Jacqueline: Hanna Murray
Robert: Martin Curd
Suzette: Eileen Audas
Suzanne: Ruth Baldwin
George: PJ Lopez

Sandra Sprawson will be producer with Barbara Mitchell as stage manager and Pat Kelly as prompt. Karl Maresz is designing and constructing the set. We still need help with lighting and technical design. So please, if you know anyone ask them now!

Tickets will be available online after the rehearsed play reading on the 18th September.

Great news: A star is born
Our youngest member, Riley, has been cast as Oliver at the Salon Varietes in Fuengirola in their musical production of “Oliver” in October. We are absolutely delighted and so proud! Here he is with Hanna in our spring production of “One O’clock from the House”.

Auditions: a date for your diary
June Rendle will be holding auditions on Wednesday 11th December 2019 for her rehearsed play reading on January 15th 2020. More details will follow nearer the time.

A date change!
Our Christmas party will now be held on Friday 13th December 2019. Venue and menu details will come later.

We look forward to seeing you at one of our events very soon. Thank you for your continuing support.
