Christmas Celebration
We sold out again and had a super evening at Urban Chai. 50 of us enjoyed a lovely meal courtesy of Neil and his team. After the meal our own members entertained us: Riley sang three songs; and Carmel and Geoffrey read from two funny pieces cleverly written Tim Coakley.

Our Annual General Meeting AGM
Our next AGM is slightly earlier this year on Tuesday 25th February 2020.

Our spring production 2020:
Peter Brooks will be directing the nail-biting thriller "Towards Zero" written by the queen of crime, Agatha Christie.  Auditions will be held at Bar El Candil, San Pedro Alcantara on Wednesday 29th January 7.30 for 8.00pm

When a house party gathers at Gull’s Point, the seaside home of Lady Tressilian, Neville Strange finds himself caught between his old wife Audrey and his new flame Kay. A nail-biting thriller, the play probes the psychology of jealousy in the shadow of a savage and brutal murder. A carefully unpeeled investigation before our eyes brings the story to a pointed ending.

Our February event
We have a play reading evening planned for Wednesday 12th February 2020 at El Candil Bar in San Pedro organised by Russell Hood. There is no charge for this event and no need to book.

It’s official: theatre is good for you!
There has been a lot in the press recently about research on the benefits of attending the theatre. Research shows it is good for you. One website, “Tixtm” states five benefits:
Reduces tension and stress
Provides strength to immune system
Increases memory
Improves hearing
Helps with physical fitness
They say that: “ a lot of people have a misconception that only exercise can make them physically fit. This is untrue because if you don’t have an active brain, then all the physical fitness is a waste. Just as the body needs exercise and protein, the brain needs theatre and entertainment.”
So what are you waiting for?

The autumn production
We are looking for a volunteer to direct the main play for autumn 2020. If you are interested please let us know as soon as possible please. The director, in conjunction with the play reading sub group, chooses the play. Experience is preferred please but support and guidance will be given if needed. Auditions for the autumn play normally take place early in September with rehearsals taking play twice a week until the three performance nights at the end of October.

Set design and set construction
Karl Maresz, our experienced and talented set manager, is resigning at the AGM. So we are looking for willing volunteers for this work. Experience is not essential as training and guidance will be available. We also need volunteers for all aspects of backstage work, so please let us know if you are interested.

New Board members
Pat Kelly and Jane Cartright have been asked to join the ITS Board and have have said yes! These positions will be ratified at the AGM in February.

We would like to wish everyone a happy Christmas and a happy, productive and healthy new year. Thank you for your incredible support for all our events during 2019.Martin Curd, President
