Background
* We are a non-profit making organisation set up in 1975 to provide theatre and dramatic activities for the public.* We do not have our own premises, but we rely on the good will of local venues to accommodate our events.
* For the staged plays that usually take place in hotels, we are required to pay a fee to the hotel for the use of their premises.
* All our actors, backstage crew and helpers are unpaid volunteers.
* Since 2019, we have used an online ticket sales/booking system. We pay a percentage for each ticket purchased to the ticket sales company.
* Each event we create has a finite number of seats and we cannot breach this number for the health and safety reasons set by each venue we use.
* We are unable to provide tickets with a numbered seating allocation. It is a first come, first seated policy.
* We do not currently have or use any venues with theatre seats or with tiered/raised seating.
* Our pricing policy is very competitive to make theatre accessible to more people. Our paid-up members can access discounted tickets for themselves.
Our policy of No Refunds
If we cancel a performance, it will be for an exceptional reason, and we will, of course, make a full refund if requested, or automatically transfer the ticket to a later event or to another event, if this was what the purchaser wanted.* If the purchaser of a ticket wants to cancel a ticket they purchased, the notice period is 14 days ahead of the performance date. An online booking fee will be deducted from the ticket price paid and returned to the purchaser at a cost of 2€ per ticket.
* If the purchaser would like us to try and re-sell the ticket, we will endeavour to do so. But there are no guarantees that this will be possible. The purchaser can re-sell the ticket themself if able.
* We will not make any refunds for any other reasons if the 14 days notice period is not met.
Our reason for this rigid policy is simply logistical and financial. We are all volunteers and the venues we use expect the numbers we give them from the sales record.
We do not have an office or staff for an office, simply a volunteer secretary and a volunteer treasurer.
Our accounts are on public record on our website here
